I both loved and hated my 3rd year of med school. On one hand, I finally got to meet patients! On the other, I constantly felt like I was adjusting my personality to suit my audience & counteract prejudice, & that got tiring quick. (An aside: not implying that white male med students don’t have to do the same, just that they seemed more likely to have their innate personality traits looked upon favorably!)
